The present paper intends to discuss ethical issues regarding the social impact of the increasing spreading of information technology in today's society and the role of the moderating factors such as family and education, as they appear in national and local surveys. We note a number of attempts in order to clarify the concepts and to make policies and recommendations in this respect, made by philosophers as Moore and others, but which should be supported with an effort to allow a continuous adjustment of the ethical principles to the various applications of these technologies. Our objective is to highlight the effects of the prolonged use of computer on school student, and the influence of family or education, on a sample of 439 school students from Iasi County. The results suggest an extensive use, non-educational and a poor involvement of the family in this kind of activity.
