Abstract:
The term quality of life has several meanings. Some researches state that at least in the mental
health care, a complex concept of quality of life is more appropriate; in addition, beside the evaluation
of these aspects carried out by the patients themselves, an external evaluation is also necessary.
Dementia, in all of its forms, is a disease with a major impact on the quality of life of patients and
family caregivers, becoming thus a problem of the entire family. Due to the nature of the degrading
evolution of the disease, the patient with dementia becomes a burden for the family, the evaluation of
the quality of life in patients and caregivers becomes an extremely important and debatable subject of
study.
