The diagnosis of cancer certainly established has generally a shocking impact both on a human subject under discussion and his family. The patients with malignant tumors in oro-maxillo-facial territory are emotionally traumatized in a particular way, by the morphological and functional consequences of surgery on a segment of the body with great implication in social life (the face). Since there is little literature on the psychological and psychosocial aspects found in patients with head and neck cancers, this material is intended to be a warning sign for the importance of providing adequate psychological counselling to these patients so as to improve their quality of life after diagnosis and treatment performance, especially so that they will benefit from a more efficient social reintegration.
