Abstract:
The authors go over the genetic psychiatry and molecular psychiatry researcher’s efforts in their
attempt to decipher the genetic basis of affectivity. There are analyzed in a critical way the proofs
brought by several methods of genetic exploration. The conclusion that can be drawn from this level
of research is that the family studies, those on twins, linkage studies and on individual genes can only
answer to a small part of the multitude of questions related to this exciting subject.
