Abstract:

The intervention of neLirogenic factors in hypertensive disease has two sides: on the one hand, the physiological role ¡n the regulation of arterial pressure and the maintenance of circLllatory horneostasis and, on the other hand, an ethiological or physiopathological role of our nervous system, which may participate, as primary factor or secondary mechanism, ¡n the appearance or the maintenance of an already installed arterial hypertension. At the superior nervous centres’ level, neurogenic factors are represented by the social behaviour, personality, behavioural responses to the environment’s stimuli. Medical literature mentions two types of neuroanatomic circuits (cortico-thalamo-pallido-striato limbical circuit and cortico-thalamo-limbical circuit involved in the neurobiology of depressive syndrome. Major depressive episodes are associated with sympathetic nervous system’s disorder. In the unipolar depression, exists a chronic increase in the norepinephrine’s concentration and its metabolites. In exchange, their plasmathic and urinary concentration diminish under hypertensive treatment. Therefore, sympathomimetic hyperactivity can be seen as one of the somatic markers for depression.
