Abstract:
Forensic psychiatry, at a first glance, seems to differ from one country to another due to different
historical developments, different legal systems and different mental health systems. In spite of
that, forensic psychiatry has several goals shared across countries. The European Commission
recommended the harmonization terminology and to respect the same standards in forensic
psychiatric evaluation. This article focuses on the contemporary concepts on management and
issues of regulation in forensic psychiatric services in the Republic of Moldova.
