Abstract:

In psychiatry, there are two ways of admission: voluntary admission and non-voluntary admission (applies only after all attempts of voluntary admission have been exhausted). The purpose of this study is to highlight the bio-psycho-social aspects of patients diagnosed with schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders with non-voluntary admissions, according to Law 487/2002. Materials and methods: The study is quantitative, retrospective and includes bio-psycho-social data collected from the records of 99 patients with non-voluntary schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders, admitted according to Law 487/2002, in the “Socola” University Hospital of Psychiatry during 2002 – 2011.
