Abstract:

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder with profound effects on the patient’s psycho-logical well-being due to the skin lesions affecting areas with major aesthetic impact (central region of the face, forehead). Although a disorder commonly encountered in dermatological practice, with a significant history, hundreds of articles published in the world literature and clinical trials, there are still major controversies over most areas related to rosacea (epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification, staging, development, treatment, etc.). A certain fact is that the psychological impact of rosacea is the element that closes the vicious cycle of the ethio-pathogenesis of this condition, stress being one of the major triggering factors. This article deals with rosacea as a psycho-dermatologic disorder.
