Millions of adolescents use computers on a daily basis at school and at home. Preliminary studies indicate the negative impact may be significantly more severe than that wrought by television, movies or music. Net addiction or cyberspace addiction it is a new problem, with negatively impact every aspect of life, from learning and school performance, to mental and physical health. Recent reports indicate a growing concern over two issues with regard to children and the internet: physical risk and the exposure of children to undesirable information on the internet, such as pornography, violence and antisocial behavior. It is essential that parents should be aware of the risk of unsupervised child access to the internet and that they should know what they can do to minimize those risks.
