Abstract:
It is very important to recognize organic diseases, because their treatment, at the same time with
the affective diseases will make shorter the hospitalization period and will facilitate the treatment
because it is known the fact that the high severity of affective disorders is associated with some
somatic affections. The most frequent comorbidities are the overweight and obesity, mellitus diabetes,
hyperlipaemia, cardiovascular, hepatic and renal diseases.
In the medical psychiatric literature, there are some voices which consider that there is an
excessive focus on some specific symptoms characteristic to major depression namely: main symptoms
(depressive mood or anhedonia) along with other symptoms like insomnia, appetite reduction,
fatigability, suicidal behaviour and concentration difficulties. For this reason, the possibility to diagnose a
depression is bigger if the patient has psychosocial symptoms, than if he has somatic symptoms.
