Trafficking and drug use is a matter of concern for all countries. The medical systems in Romania, in the last 1 – 2 years, revealed a broad segment of consumers hungry for thrills. The current policy models are faced with the challenge of development of the “legal drugs”. Romanian society was taken by surprise by this scourge of drugs, serious problems emerging both in court and in the medical world. Hallucinatory products sold in “Spice Shops” are a mixture between psychoactive herbals and synthetic ingredients. Consumption of these substances has become popular among youngsters, and a report of the Monitoring Center for Drugs ranks Romania fourth among European countries in “dreams shops” density. After the legislation war between parties, the executive forbade selling 36 substances (27 psychoactive herbals and 9 synthetic products). Romania is among European countries with the shortest list of banned psychoactive substances.
