In psychiatry today, the diagnosis manual represents the only document that all mental health practitioners refer to. It establishes a standard language for the diagnosis, insurance reinstatement, forensic use, research, education, informed consent and for the public consensus about what “mental illness” is. If we look at the dynamics of psychiatric nosology over the past few years, we can see that the issues of mental diseases are subjected to various attempts at abstraction at different levels, although we claim to be searching for a non-theoretical basis, objectively descriptive, although we claim to be pursuing social-humanitarian goals
