Exactly 200 years ago, the birth certificate of psychiatry was signed.
Its godfather was Johann Christian Reil doctor, anatomist, physiologist
and German psychiatrist. He was professor of therapeutic and director of
the private clinic at the University of Halle, president of the Council of
the mines, professor of medicine at the University of Berlin, and
managing director of the hospitals created after the battle of Leipzig.
